Whether you’re looking to give back, get fit, find balance, or be a social butterfly, we have something for everyone! There is definitely some fall fun to be had! It’s still outdoor activities weather for the time being, so let’s enjoy!
Lower East Side Pickle Day
10/14 | Lower East Side , Orchard Street |12 – 5 PM
Any event with a giant pickle mascot should be # 1 on your to-do list! This weekend, the long awaited and tremendously planned Pickle Day on the LES is finally here! 20+ picklers, 30+ local eateries, ice cream surprises, face painting, and lots & lots of pickles. There will be carnival games, prizes, DJs, and more! All ages are welcome. A pickle lovers dream (me)!
The Ultimate Pizza Party
10/13 | Fornino at Pier 6 BK Bridge Park | 2 – 4PM
The Ultimate Pizza Party sounds like the BEST way to spend your Saturday! Yummmm! Hosted by Food Network star Jeff Mauro, this walk around tasting event can be enjoyed by pizza lovers of all ages (adults can enjoy beer, wine, and spirits, the absolute best way to wash down pizza)! Pier 6 is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, and this weekend is going to be ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, so take advantage. Purchase tickets ahead of time!
10/13 | Bloomingdale’s SoHo & 59th St | 8:30 – 10AM
Bloomie’s partnered with Orangetheory Fitness to bring you a weekend morning sweat sesh BEFORE the stores open! This class will cost you $10, but will benefit the Marisa Acocella Foundation and The Carey Foundation, both foundations with goals towards breast cancer. The fundamentals of OTF involve endurance, strength, and power, which will increase your athletic performance beyond!
10/14 | CrossFit NYC Flatiron | 1:15 – 3:30PM
They are out, and they are fit, but it is so much more than that! Join your OUT-FIT athletes and fit friends this Sunday at CF NYC. All levels are welcome, they do mention that prior CrossFit experience is mandatory. The workouts will be announced day of, and they encourage the females to take part in the second heat, so they can all WOD together. It will be $25 for non-CFNYC members, and you can only reserve a spot in ONE heat! There will be a post-workout social at a local establishment!
Harvest Fest + Pumpkin Patch
10/14 | Queens Botanical Garden | 11AM – 5PM
Fall has arrived! What says fall more than a pumpkin patch and harvest festival right here in your own city?! There is so much more than pumpkins though, like a wine and beer garden, face painting, inflatables, trivia, lawn games, petting zoo, food vendors, live music, and more! Free for members of the QBT and kids under 3, adults $12. Embrace fall this weekend!
NYC Cupcake Run
10/13 | Astoria Park | 11AM
Oh my goodness! This run sounds like so much fun! Just over the east river from Manhattan in Astoria Park you can run a 5K with 3 checkpoints through the race where you EAT A CUPCAKE. You will eat 3 cupcakes during this 3.1 mile run! A portion of your run ticket will benefit New York Cares, and after the race there will be free food and drink at the local bar Rocky McBrides! The weather should be great for an outdoor run! Yes!
Volo City Kids Fundraiser
10/13 | Libation | 5 – 8PM
This weekend the NYC Junior Board is putting on a Flip Cup Tournament to benefit our Volo City Kids Foundation! You all LOVE Flip Cup (and let’s be honest, are very good at it) and you LOVE our Volo City Kids (New York City) (it’s why we play), so join us for an exciting fundraiser on October 13th from 5-8PM at Libation (3rd Floor) for a team flip cup tournament! The details are: 5 player teams – play to win DAS BOOT for best team & $15 per person ($75 per team),
survivor tournament after team competition for best individual ($5 donation), DJ, chandeliers, and pong, and last but not least RSVP by October 11!
10/14 | Cadman Plaza, BK | 10AM
Imagine having a condition where the only relief is brain surgery. That is the case with hydrocephalus. This walk can help raise funds for research to help find a CURE! Last year the organization raised over 2 million dollars through the nationwide walks. Become aware!
