Now that we turned the clocks back, our comfortable outdoor days are winding down! Let’s enjoy them while we still can!
Puppies + Fitness
11/18 | Hit House | 1:30 – 3:30PM
Kickboxing for a cause presented by Hit House and The Big City Woof Walker! Time for a 50 minute sweat sesh, with doggies everywhere! 50% of the proceeds from Sunday’s event will go to Social Tees Animal Rescue, a rescue and adoption company. You will leave accompanied by some cool swag as well as feeling invigorated and full of puppy love! If you’re not already an account holder at Hit House, you will have to register! Quick and easy! Enjoy!
EQUINOX x NYU. FASHION
11/16 | Equinox Bond Street | 2:30 – 3:30PM
This is the new idea of HIIT training! It is only 30 minutes! WHAT?! From what I hear though, we should be happy that it is not longer than 1/2 hour. Each second will be maximized to its greatest potential. You will use your body weight and a step bench to power through super fast intervals, allowing you to really understand the idea that an intense cardio session can be quick! Charge through this Firestarter class!
Fridays Free at Whitney
11/16 | Whitney Museum of American Art | 7:00PM
For four Fridays only, starting this Friday, November 16th, you can pay what you want from 7 – 10PM at the Whitney. You could even pay 1 cent. This museum is 63,000 square feet, with work on display indoors and outdoors! Founded in 1931, this space is dedicated to showing off the works of several young American artists. It holds about 15,000 pieces!
Art & Meditation
11/17 | In Light Yoga and Health | 3PM – 7PM
This event has the power to change you. For real. Happiness is a choice, and you will learn the nature of happiness and the science behind it. You will create your own joyful, happiness, mixed-media art to take home. You will enjoy a healthy, vegan meal! There is so much more, but guys, this will be powerful in the most amazing way. Don’t miss out.
NYC Beerathon 2018
11/17 | Libation | 12 – 10PM
This whole Beerathon thing began in the mid 2000s before really taking off in 2011. This year though, they are bringing back the difficulty in the event. “Full sized beers. 26 venues. A challenging course map. Curveball beers. Rock and roll.” There is a course map you follow, and discounted beers along the way. Friendship is the main idea. Come with friends, make new friends. Everyone will be happy. Good luck!
USQ Holiday Market
Opens 11/15 | Union Square | Open Daily
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Yes we know that this holiday market 100% crowds up our square here. However, how beautiful are all the lights, and decorations, and happy people this time of year!? If you want to avoid the crowd, I would probably say to go sooner rather than later when it’s closer to Christmas. Regardless, it is going to be busy starting today, 11/15, until Christmas Eve. You honestly can get all your shopping done in this one area!
Repair the World NYC
11/17 | Harlem Grown | 10AM – 1PM
Join Repair the World and Harlem Grown for a Saturday morning filled with hot cider and the ability to help the city by raking leaves for compost. Harlem Grown aims to “empower youth to lead healthy and ambitious lives through mentorship and hands-on education in urban farming, sustainability, and nutrition.” Abandoned lots even get turned into urban farms, how amazing??! Please note this event is 18+!
11/17 | Hudson Yards New York | 1 – 7PM
Basically, just think of Cranksgiving as a scavenger hunt on your bike, where you purchase items from different grocery stores. All your food will be donated to the Bowery Mission. After the hard work is done, the afterparty will be at HI New York City Hostel, which is also the organization that made the event possible. Happy giving!
