Happy New Year! Wait, so when is it not appropriate anymore to say “Happy New Year” to someone?! I think we have reached that date, but I don’t care, because this is the first Volo RoundUp of 2019! Oh, happy day! Whether you’re looking to give back, get fit, find balance, or be a social butterfly, we have something for everyone! Unless you’re skiing on the side of a mountain, strolling through your neighborhood, or ice skating, your weekend activities now will likely be indoors. That’s okay, it’s cold, and winter! No Pants Subway Ride 2019
1/13/19 | On All Subways | 3-5PM
This yearly event, that is actually NOT just limited to NYC (who knew?!), is this Sunday! Talk about a Sunday Funday for the ages! It essentially is a pants-free subway ride. With 6 meeting places around the city (at 3 PM sharp), the day will kick-off in an organized fashion, with instructions for each step of the way! The event has a deep history, so participating should be loads of fun! At the conclusion of the rides, join the after party at Bar 13 in Union Square! Lots of food, drinks, and dancing (you’ll probably need to warm up!

Although this is not a special event on a specific day, I think it absolutely needs to be highlighted! This is the ONLY rooftop skating rink in NYC. And those views… 😍! See the Empire State Building, the stunning Brooklyn Bridge, and more city twinkles right from the rink! The entire rooftop experience is complete with a cozy warming hut and full restaurant and lounge, R17!

NYC Twerk Fitness Festival

Ladies, ladies, ladies! This weekend is the Twerk Fitness Festival! With 6 classes in total to take, each of them different from the other, you can get your sweat on and your groove on! You will pick and choose which classes from the lineup that you want to take, or take them all. Hey, it’s 2019! Step outside the box a little bit! Relax and Breathe
1/11 | Montauk Salt Cave NYC | 10AM – 8PM
Relax, everyone needs it! 2019 is the year of self-care, right?! Make your way to Montauk Salt Cave on 10th Street for some R + R. Get a sense of peace and serenity with halotherapy, where you breathe in the negatively charged, ionized salt particles. Deep breaths, and heal yourself!
Free Yoga Open House
1/12 | Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center NY | 10:30AM – 2PM
Each month the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center offers free open houses! The first portion of the day is dedicated to understanding Sivananda Yoga; the traditions and what it means to live the yogic life. You then participate in a yoga class (bring your own mat or towel to cover provided mat)! The day ends with a lovely vegetarian lunch! Step outside your comfort zone this year when it comes to your personal wellness!

Mile High Charity Run
1/13 | NoHo Mile High Run Club | 3 – 4PM
Join the Mile High Run Club for a Dash 28 class on Sunday! This class is in support of women and girls with disabilities. 100% of the ticket sales will go to Miss Amazing, a non-profit that strives to empower females with disabilities, support their self-esteem, and provide a platform for them to connect with new friends and role models.
